Homework for November 23-25; #7258

No Spelling this week!

Phonics
We will work on the letter Xx and digraph sh this week.

Math
We will continue to work on Subtraction to 10 this week. Keep practicing at home!

Reading
We will work on Mini Books this week. Look for those in your child’s folder and have your child read them to you.

Notes
-We will have a mini-feast in our classroom on Wed., November 25, to end our Thanksgiving unit!
-Please remember to clean out the homework folders nightly and check test folders on Friday. All tests should be signed and returned on Monday.
-School will be closed from Thursday, November 26 through Monday, November 30! Have a great holiday!

Tuesday-complete the fill in the blank worksheet; spell each word aloud as you write it!
Wednesday-complete the fill in the blank worksheet; spell each word aloud as you write it!
Thursday-Pre-test-corrections must be written 3x’s each on the back of the test paper.
Friday -Final Test

Phonics
We will continue with the “Sneaky e Rule” this week, contractions and the letter Xx. There will be a Phonics Reader on Monday and Thursday.

Math
We reviewed Chapter 6 today and will take the Chapter 6 Test on Tuesday! We will start Chapter 7 on Subtraction Strategies on Wednesday. Keep practicing addition and subtraction facts to 10 at home!
Reading
Our new story for this week is “The Big Circle.” Please read the story and practice the wordlist nightly. We will take the Oral Test on the Word List on Thursday. We will take the Vocabulary and Comprehension Test on Friday.




We will continue with our Thanksgiving unit and discuss dinosaurs this week!


Notes
-We had a Guidance Class with Mrs. Hull today.
-We will have a mini-feast in out classroom on Wed., November 25, to end our Thanksgiving unit! I will provide turkey and drinks. I am asking for donations of other snacks for our feast. Things like gold fish crackers, pumpkin seeds, pumpkin pie or bread, popcorn and cranberries (dried or canned).

Phonics
We will work on syllable patterns and the “Sneaky e Rule” this week. The sneaky e rule is when a vowel is followed by a consonant and e; the e is silent and the vowel says its long sound.

Reading
Our new story for this week is “Who Works Here?” Please read the story and practice the wordlist nightly. We will take the Oral Test on the Word List on Thursday. We will take the Vocabulary and Comprehension Test on Friday.

Math
We will continue adding to 10 this week. Please practice at home. We are trying to memorize the facts! We will review Chapter 6 on Friday and take the Chapter 6 Test on Monday, November 16!

We will work on a Native American Unit this week!



Notes
-Parent teacher conferences are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday from 4-6 pm. Please come at your scheduled time!

Our new story for this week is “The Farmer In the Hat.” Please read the story and practice the wordlist nightly. We will take the Oral Test on the Word List on Thursday. We will take the Vocabulary and Comprehension Test on Friday.

Math
We reviewed adding to 10 today. We will take the Chapter 5 Test on Tuesday. Please review adding to 10 at home! We will begin Chapter 6 on Wednesday. It will be more practice adding to 10.


Notes
-Parent teacher conferences have been scheduled and are in homework folders today. I haven’t heard from some of you as to whether or not you would like a conference. Please return the Conference Papers as soon as possible. They must be returned either way, whether you want a conference or not. At this point there are no appointments left for Tuesday, November 10.
-Please remember to clean out the homework folders nightly and check test folders on Friday. All tests should be signed and returned on Monday.
