Homework Note; April 26

Spelling

Monday-trace, write and spell each word aloud
Tuesday-write a sentence for each word numbered 1-5 and study
Wednesday- write a sentence for each word numbered 6-10 and study
Thursday-Pre-test-write corrections 3x’s each and study
Friday-Final Test

Phonics
We will work on Ghost Letter Digraphs, and using the Dropping and Doubling Rules this week. There will be a Phonics Reader on Friday.

Math
We will take the Chapter 22 Test on “Counting Pennies, Nickels and Dimes” on Tuesday. We reviewed in class today and there is a homework sheet in your child’s folder for more practice tonight. We will work on trading coins this week and will add quarters into the mix, as well. Please practice counting with pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters to $1.00 at home!

Reading
We will read “Dot and Jabber” this week. Please read the story and review the wordlist nightly. We will take the Vocabulary and Comprehension Test on Friday.



Notes
-We started a unit on Animals today to get ready for our Field Trip! We go to Hershey on our Field Trip next Wednesday, May 5. Every child must pack a lunch in a brown paper bag with his or her name clearly marked on the front. All contents, including drinks, must be disposable. We cannot carry any food items or containers around the zoo! Students should wear their new royal blue t-shirts that were provided by the PTO.
-We do have Snack Time every morning! Please remember to send a snack to school daily. You may send a pack of snacks and I will distribute one to your child daily, if you would like.

We will work on soft g, the Doubling Rule and Ghost Letter Digraphs this week. There will be a Phonics Reader on Friday.

Math
We started “Money” last week! Please practice counting pennies, nickels and dimes to $1.00 at home. There will be a homework sheet on Tuesday and Thursday to practice counting money.

Reading
We will read “Mole and the Baby Bird” this week. Please read the story and review the wordlist nightly. We will take the Vocabulary and Comprehension Test on Friday.


Notes

-We will be working on Earth Week activities this week. We will be doing kid writings for an “Arbor Day/Earth Day” Program in Gordon. Some students will be chosen to read their work at the program!
-Please send me a note to let me know if your child will be eating lunch from the cafeteria or packing on the day of the carnival. A paper was sent home about this last week, but I only got four papers back! If you still have that paper, please send that. If not, just write me a note.

Phonics
We will work on digraphs ey and ph, and soft g this week. We will have a Phonics Reader on Thursday.

Math
We will continue with Number Patterns, please practice nightly. We will have homework on Tuesday night to get ready for the Chapter 12 Test on Wednesday. I will also be asking each student to count by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s, orally, next week. Practice, Practice, Practice!!!

Reading
We will read “Tippy-Toe Chick, Go!” this week. Please read the story and review the wordlist nightly. We will take the Vocabulary and Comprehension Test on Friday.

-We will have a Distance Learning activity on Thursday morning at 10:00. The program is called “Just Senseless.”
