Homework for Week of January 25

Spelling

Monday-trace, write and spell each word aloud
Tuesday-write a sentence for each word numbered 1-6 and study
Wednesday-write a sentence for each word numbered 7-12 and study
Thursday-write Pre-test corrections 3x’s each
Friday-Final Test

Phonics
We will work on combinations ar and or, and digraph ch. We will have a Phonics Reader on Tuesday. Please look for that in your child’s folder and have he or she read it to you!

Math
We will continue to work on Addition and Subtraction to 12 this week. We will review on Tuesday and take the Chapter 14 Test on Wednesday. On Thursday we will begin Chapter 9 “Tables and Graphs.” Our Student Teacher will be teaching Chapter 9!


Reading
Our new story is “Frog and Toad Together.” Please read the story and practice the wordlist nightly.
We will take the Oral Test on Thursday, and the Vocabulary and Comprehension Test on Friday.

Science
We will work on AIR and WEATHER in FOSS Science this week!

Notes
-We will be having a Student Teacher in our room for the next nine weeks. Her name is Marci Rajkowski and she is from Bloomsburg University. I am sure you will be hearing a lot about her from your child in the next few weeks! We are very happy to have her!!
-We had a Guidance Class with Mrs. Hull today.
-Please send the $4.00 party money as soon as possible. Valentine’s Day will be here soon!

We will work on suffixes, digraph ia and digraph ay this week. We will have a Phonics Reader on Friday. Please look for that in your child’s folder and have he or she read it to you!

Math
We will continue to work on Addition and Subtraction to 12 this week. Please keep practicing at home!



Reading
Our new story is “Jan’s New Home.” Please read the story nightly. We will not have a word list this week. Please just review the HIGH FREQUENCY WORDS on pg. 70 in the textbook. They are the words that are tested on the Vocabulary test!

We will work on combination –er, trigraph –igh and compound words this week. We will have a Phonics Reader on Monday and Thursday. Please look for those in your child’s folder and have he or she read it to you!

Math
We will continue to work on Addition and Subtraction to 12 this week. Please keep practicing at home! We will have a test on Wednesday and then continue to practice Addition and Subtraction to 12 in Chapter 14!


Reading
Our new story is “Ruby In Her Own Time.” Please read the story and review the wordlist nightly. We will take the Oral Wordlist Test on Thursday and the Vocabulary and Comprehension Test on Friday. I will not read any of the Vocabulary Test the students from now on. I will, however, continue to read the Comprehension Test to the students through the 3rd Marking Period.

Notes
-There won’t be any Remedial Reading this week. The Reading teachers will be giving the DIBELS Test this week. We all will take the test sometime during this week!
-There is NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS ON MONDAY, JANUARY 18!

We will continue to work on Addition and Subtraction to 12 this week. Please keep practicing at home! We will soon start “timed tests” on addition and subtraction facts to 10.


Reading
We got our new Reading books today for Unit 3! The first story is “An Egg is an Egg.” Please read the story and review the wordlist nightly. We will take the Oral Wordlist Test on Thursday and the Vocabulary and Comprehension Test on Friday. I will not read any of the Vocabulary Test the students from now on. I will, however, continue to read the Comprehension Test to the students through the 3rd Marking Period.



Notes
