Tuesday- write a sentence for each word numbered 1-6.
Wednesday- write a sentence for each word numbered 7-12.
Thursday-we will take a Pre-test. If your child spells all of the words correctly he or she is finished for the week. Any words spelled incorrectly must be written 5x’s each on Thursday night.
Friday -the Final Test will be given.

Phonics
This week we will work on the letters z and s and the suffix –s.

Reading
We will work on the story “Come Here, Tiger” on Monday and Tuesday. Please read the story and practice the key words with your child on those nights. We will take the Key Word Test on Wednesday. The new story will be “Look At Me.” Read that story and practice the new key words on Thursday night.


Math
We will be working on Addition Facts to 10 this week. Please review the addition facts at home. You can review orally or on paper, it is a lot easier for the students if they memorize the basic addition facts.

Science
Mr. Evans will be presenting a unit on the “5 Senses” this week! Their packets will be sent home next Monday, Sept. 15 and a test will be given on Tuesday, Sept. 16.

-THE BOOK FAIR IS AT SCHOOL THIS WEEK! Our day to shop is Monday. The Book Fair will be open on Tuesday night from 4-7pm if you would like to come and shop with your child.

We will be working on “A Big Surprise” this week. Your child will have a Key Word envelope in his or her folder on Wednesday. Please review those key words nightly. The textbooks will also be sent home on Wed. and Thurs. Please have your child read the story to you. The first few stories are very easy. Please discuss the pictures with your child to check for comprehension.

Math
We will work on addition to 6 this week!

Phonics
We will be working on the letters n, o, t and p.

Science
This unit in Science is about Balance and Motion. Our first investigation will be on Balance.

Notes

-Snack
We will have snack time every morning at about 10:00. For the first week I will provide snack, but you are more than welcome to send a snack from home. After this week, each child will need to bring a snack from home. A small drink can be included, just not soda!

-Lunch Money
It is best to send lunch money in weekly or monthly. The cash or check must be in an envelope labeled with your child’s name, homeroom 105 and their ID number. If you don’t know the ID number send me a note and I will send you a note with your child’s number.

-Specials
Our special classes follow a 6 Day Cycle.
