Homework Note; February 22

No Spelling this week!

Phonics
We will work on the rule v’/cv with a, e, i, o and u this week. There will be a Phonics Homework sheet on Tuesday and Thursday this week! Please write all of the words from the word box that tell about the picture, and then fill up the rest of the lines with words of your own. All lines must be filled!

Math
We will take the test on “Graphs and Tables” on Tuesday. We will begin working on Tens and Ones on Wednesday.

Reading
We got our Unit 4 Reading books today! Our new story is “Mama’s Birthday Present.” Please read the story nightly. The stories and tests are getting harder. We discuss the story everyday here in school, but it is also important for the students to read the story nightly and discuss the story as they read it. Also, you will notice a new kind of wordlist in your child’s folder today. They use the story words in sentences and list the High Frequency words at the bottom. Continue to study those nightly. Those words will be tested on the vocabulary part of the test. We will take the Vocabulary and Comprehension Test on Friday.

Science
We will continue to work on our Weather and Seasons unit.
