We are taking a break from the Reading Curriculum to review Phonics and hopefully become a bit We stronger on our Phonics Skills.  The words listed above are the High Frequency Words that we have done to this point.  Please practice those nightly!!

Thursday-Day 10 Computer Class
v  We will begin Math Fact Fluency Tests today!!  Fluency Tests will be given once a week until the end of the year.  Students will be given 2 minutes to complete 46 addition facts from 0-8.  There will be a fluency grade on the report card for the 3rd Trimester.
v  Complete Math Review worksheet to prepare for the Topic 9 Assessment that will be given tomorrow!!
Friday-Day 9 Music
v  Today is a $1.00 Dress Down Day.

Notes
·         The Newspaper in Education paper is due back no later than Thursday, March 15.
·         Report cards will be sent home on Tuesday.  Please sign the envelope and you can keep the report card at home!
·         Please help us with our Chinese Auction Basket “Summer Fun!”  The paper explaing our basket was sent home last week!!  You can send items, or cash and we will purchase the items!!

·         We will have our Kick-off Pep Rally for the Boosterthon this morning!!!
·         We will take the Weekly Reading Test for “The Farmer in the Hat” tomorrow! 

Wednesday-Day 8 Phys. Ed. (wear Gym clothes and sneakers)  
·         Complete the Review Math Worksheet for the Topic 6 Math Assessment that will be given tomorrow!

Thursday-Day 9 Art
·         We took the Spelling Pre-test for our new story “Who Works Here?”  Please look for those and the new Spelling words in folders tonight!!

Friday-Day 10 Computer Class
·         Today will be a $1.00 dress down day!  Students can only wear NS shirts with jeans or sweatpants!!

-Sneaky e Rule-when a vowel is followed by a consonant and an e, the vowel says its long sound and the e is silent.
-ke comes after a long vowel (make, take)
-ce sounds like /s/ after a long vowel (face, race)
-ge sounds like /j/ after a long vowel (age, cage)

·         Today will be a free dress down day for students who earned the first two stickers for January.  January is a get back into the swing of it month, so we are reviewing all of the rules!!  They can earn a second free dress down at the end of the month, if all four stickers are earned!!
·         We will have Brainshow Mania in school today at 9:20!!  Thanks to the PTO for this fun program!!!

·         The Data Delay for tomorrow (Jan. 10) and the In-service Day for January 15, have been cancelled, they will be regular school days!!
