               -read “Seeds” to someone at home and keep at home for further practice

Tuesday-not a rotation day due to PSSA Testing. We will not have special classes on these days!

-please orally review the Spelling Words for the Spelling Pre-test tomorrow and read “A Rabbit and a Kitten” to someone at home.

Wednesday-not a rotation day due to PSSA Testing. We will not have special classes on these days!

-please review orally any of the Spelling Words that were wrong on the Pre-test to prepare for the Final Test tomorrow and read “Honey Bees” in the textbook.

Tuesday-Day 3 Computer Class

         -complete the Math Review Worksheet

               -review the new key words that are in the envelope

-read the Phonics Reader “Dee, Lee and the Green Plants” to someone at home and discuss.  Keep the reader at home for extra practice!

Wednesday-Day 4 Gym (wear sneakers and gym clothes)

-complete the Math Practice 9-3

-complete Spelling Worksheet pg. 302

Thursday-Day 5 Book Exchange (remember Library Books!)   

         -complete the Math Practice 9-4

-read the Phonics Reader “Bandit” to someone at home and discuss.  Keep the reader at home for extra practice!

Friday-Day 1 Music

         -Spartan Spirit Day! Wear red and blue or spirit shirts!

Students are not permitted to take toys out to recess, so please don’t allow your child to bring them to school.  There are toys and equipment for students to use on the playground!

**There is a Book Order in the folder today!  The order and payment are due by Monday, March 30.  There are some great books this month that your child can read for Accelerated Reader!!

**We have started doing leveled reading passages for fluency and comprehension.  You will find them in your child’s Friday folder.  By this time in 1^st grade we would like the students to be reading 40 words correct per minute.  The more reading your child does, the better the fluency and comprehension will get!!

Look for my ad in the Pottsville Republican Classified Ads for a special treat!!  Just cut it out and bring it to school in an envelope or plastic sandwich bag.

Also, there is a paper attached to this note to keep track of time spent reading this week.  I initialed Monday because we did the Weekly Reader.  Starting today if you read with your child, initial the line and send it back by Wednesday, March 11!
